Criminals have a new way of marking potential victims the Community Policing Forum (CPF) Sector 4 warned.

Recently, all across Randfontein, a new way of marking houses for criminal activity has been noticed.

According to William Knight from the CPF, “A young man has been spotted going around neighborhoods, spraying driveways and trees. The colour of the spray is white and can only be spotted at night once you shine a light on it.

In the daytime it appears as a faint white marking. In this way, your house gets marked and targeted for break-ins.”

On Thursday, 15 October the CPF received calls from two separate residents reporting this strange behavior.

Knight continued, “In the past, houses were marked by rocks, string and even chicken feet but, this is a new way of marking houses because it is hard to notice in daylight.”
